Pamela Bowman

Graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1995, having studied alongside Patrick Walker and Alun Cocks who subsequently set up dust in Sheffield in 2000.

First job after leaving college was at Central St. Martins working on The Central Lettering Record. Following this came an MA at Leeds Met and a string of teaching jobs on Graphic Design courses at Bretton Hall College of the University of Leeds, De Montfort University at Lincoln, The University of Lincoln, Leeds Metropolitan University and since 2006 Sheffield Hallam University.

Somewhere along the way having two children and maintaining a practice as a typographer with dust.

Alun Cocks

Alun studied Graphic Arts & Design (BA Hons) at Leeds Metropolitan University, he was the last of the three to leave in 1997.

After studying he fell into the graveyard shift as a night audit in a large Sheffield hotel. After two years awake, nocturnal living he found sunlight at dust.

Fact - Patrick was born on the longest day and Alun was born on the shortest day.

Patrick Walker

Patrick is originally from Barnsley, South Yorkshire but now lives with Pamela in Sheffield.

He studied at Leeds Metropolitan University on the Ba(Hons) Graphic Arts & Design degree.

Following education he spent time as a design lecturer and tootling about in other design studios.

Finally after a shamefully short stint at the RCA, Patrick went home and started dust in a terrace attic.
